Well Its been a rough weekend for my family...LOLOLOL
I have been cooking in the kitchen trying out all kinds of new recipes-breakfast ones, lunch ones, dinner ones.....LOLOLOL..yigh..yigh...LOLOL

Yes-my poor family.......all in the hopes of trying to take my mind off -you-know-what....LOLOL
My house is all cleaned too...LOLOLOL-so come on over.....you could literally eat off the floor....:)

Anyway-tonight everyone was all smiles as I tried this new recipe from Bear In The Kitchen.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

4-5 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 strips of bacon for each chicken breast
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
3/4 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix the brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, basil, and salt. Coat chicken completely on both sides with mixture. Wrap 2 strips of bacon around each chicken breast and secure with a few toothpicks. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through (I use a meat thermometer to make sure chicken is cooked through).

This is absolutely my FAVORITE chicken dish now-Papa and Nana-Ill cook it for ya next time you are here-you will fall completely in LOVE....LOLOLOL-You'll never want your chicken any other way...LOLOLOL

We had it with Rice-a-Roni, seasoned potatoes(you know those nummy packets that you coat your taters with), and corn.....DE-LISC!! It was a BIG hit-Hands Down!!

I just got off the phone with the Dr's office. They had me on hold for 15 min-just to tell me that my results from the pathologist had not come in yet! ARGHHHH!
Talk abt stopping my heart-Morons!!LOLOLOL
But she said to callback abt 4 if she hadnt called back by then....
so still waiting....and waiting....If Im waiting until this weekend.......ugh....sigh...
O-well...I guess I want it to be thorough-right? ...right.....

For Anyone Just Dying To Know....Thyroid Stuff

I had my FNA(Fine Needle Aspiration)yesterday.....and yes Ive called the Dr and no results yet...way to early and he wasnt in the office today...sigh...one can hope-though-eh;)LOLOL

Anyway-My biopsy went well-as well as it could go I guess....First I met the Ultrasound guy and he looked at the nodule and told me it was abt 1 cm in size. So thats a relief that its still quite small I guess...He prepped my neck and then the Radioligist came in. They put a pillow under my back and had me bend my neck wayyyyyyyy back-talk abt uncomforteable....But this radiologist-talk abt calming my fears. This guy was so nice and he made me totally at ease-which was very welcomed...LOLOLOL He injected me with some stuff to make me numb. This was the worst part of it all-it really stung going in and the whole suringe was just plum full...so it took awhile....then he procedded to wave his magic wand(the ultrasound thing)and started poking and tugging...LOLOLOL. He did a series of 4 shots worth-or 4 draws worth. Each time it felt like a weird tugging on my neck-didnt hurt though at all:)After each he handed each to Emily who put it on a slide right there.

The whoel process took abt 20 min-so not bad-eh? One thing that I didnt quiet appreciate was them talking bat another case in the ER where someone had just come in with a great big mass in their neck and it had moved over their esophogus etc....The radiologist stated that it was probably anaplastic-which had me shuddering. He probably didnt think anything of it, that I woulndt knwo what he was talking about-but I have done alot of research and anaplastic cancers are the worst to get as they are very aggressive and work really quickly....so that wasnt a good thought to leave me with was it???...LOLOLOL

But other than that it went really smoothly......and now Im just waiting to get my results back and a call from the Dr......yeah....

Last night my neck was pretty sore when I swallowed, but today its much better and Im feeling well-except that I have come down with a scratchy throat and am all congested-which has me not sleeping well...sigh....

Dh was so sweet last night. He got some pizza and some movies and we stayed up late watching them(ON A SCHOOL NIGHT!!!!!!!LOLOLOL)-which was nice as it took my mind off of everything:) Sweet isnt he? :)

Im so lucky to have such a sweety. The kids were worried when I was in the hospital-they kept asking dh "Where's Mommy, and when is she coming out?" every 2 sec he said and were all relieved to see me when I was done.....LOLOLOL

Im so blessed to have such a wonderful caring family.:) Grami, Papa and Nana and many others have been praying for me as well and Im sure thats why I was "cool as a cucumber" per Radiologist. ...LOLOLCould have fooled me though...
But thanks everyone for keeping me in your prayers. Ill keep ya posted:)

I've been pretty quiet here-as Im sure everyone is just soo tired of me talking abt my thyroid...LOLOLOL,...and thats all that has been on my mind...
But tom is the day I get my biopsy done...then on Friday I should know and I can STOP this festering...maybee...LOLOLOL

I cant wait to thoroughly dissect these blogs and Im soo excited to see Aspie views from others who ARE ASPIES...I can already tell I am going to thoroughly enjoy them and also in the process learn and understand Stinger more because of it....thought some of you all would be interested too :)Should be very cool getting a grown up Aspie view of social aspect things-which is something I really have a hard time understanding with Stinger...

I love to read personal accounts of people who are on the autism spectrum and struggle in social situations. Lately, thought I have been setting aside these types of books as "enjoyment" rather than educational. That is so far from the truth! Watching the Temple Grandin movie helped remind me how important it is to get a first person perspective.

I have a friend who I greatly admire. His name is Adam and he has Asperger Syndrome. Adam has been in the IT department at a large drug manufacturer, been in a band where he has traveled and recorded and now is planning on moving his family of four to the Czech Republic to be missionaries. I don't know how he does it. What I do know is that I have learned more about Asperger Syndrome from him than from any other speaker. Adam has a way of explaining difficulties he has faced in social situations throughout his whole life.

I was impressed when I heard Adam speak and talk about why he wears a baseball hat so much. It's because it blocks out at least 20% of his visual field along with any super bright light overhead. He can be easily visually overstimulated and he recognized this well before he received his AS diagnosis. He also explained how he was able to modulate his sensory system in a corporate environment. When others would go for coffee or go outside for a smoking break, Adam would go down to a storage room in the basement and pace or walk around. This was calming and refreshing to him.

Adam's blog covers many different thoughts and topics, but there are some gems in there about dealing with Asperger Syndrome that could be very helpful for parents, teachers and especially adults or young adults with AS. Adam puts a great positive spin on all of his entries.

Updates....

Well Yes....Im a fester Lester lately.........LOLOLOLOL
My thyroid level results came back-and they are fine...which is good I guess...but not favoreable for a benign nodule...sigh...what can ya do....LOLOLOL But Im telling myself that it is good...its good...right? Right!:)

Flamingo had her first day of Girl Scouts today-she was just thrilled to be with so many girlie girls again...LOLOL, I also signed her up for Spring Soccer ...which she is excited to start....

Stinger has his writting test tom morning-we have been prepping all month-so hopefully he does well...we shall see....

I have been trying to take my mind off of my thyroid-but do you know how hard that is when you are constantly swallowing....sheesh.....but my mind has been wandering to my Spring Chicken plans. We have a horse trailer and Im thinking about making that somehow into a chicken coop-how is that for creative and frugal-and no-Im not crazy-Ive seen them online;P But anyway-Ive been trying to pre-occupy my mind with things like that until the 24th......my biopsy date...When I was researching online...yes okay...festering...LOLOL, I found a sight and it showed a needle biopsy-can you just say Im scared silly now...thy just kept poking and poking and swirming ard with that needle-Im in for a whole bunch of fun-Big mistake watching that video....And ya know what-the lady was all smiles...hows that for a bit coo-koo-LOLOLOL..yigh..yigh...just thinking about it has me shuddering...2 minutes of pure Heaven I tell ya...ugh....

I talked with my sis though and she has had it done and she said its no big deal...but sheesh...thats not how it looked in the video......yet another thing to fester abt...yigh....sigh....LOLOLOL

But I cant do anything until those results are in-so QUITE MRS. T!!!!!!Get a GRIP!!!! okay...Im trying.....:P So there :P

This is what I made for Dh for Tom-VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! WHOOT!!! I hope he likes it. I got a bunch of candy bars and snacks that I know he likes and put some heart felt love notes on them, then taped them on some card board and stuck in a basket-filled it up with red sparklies and wrapped with celephane:)WHOOT!!!!
But SHHHHhhhhhhh....Dont Tell!!!!!

Dr. Update....V-day Parties:)

I havent been ard here much-not to post anyway.....Ive been trying not to think abt my thyroid, but its hard as its constantly on my mind now. I got my ultra sound results back. They found a solid nodule on my right side of my thyroid. I dont knwo if ist inside it or what-just that it is there. I guess as it is solid-it is concerning the Dr so I am scheduled to get a needle biopsy done next week-...joy..... He kept bringging up the 5% deal of the C word....

I was pretty freaked abt it, so I called Papa and Nana and it looks like thyroid issues run on both sides of the family-some being the worst case scenerio(the big C)..but looking at all my family members they all have pulled through just fine...so that is somewhat a relief. I was really glad that I called them. I also called my sis and she has been through alot of the same things I will be going through and she helped me feel less stressed abt everything too. Then I called BB and sh esent me alot of info as she has been through something similar just recently. So I have receieved alot of support and feel much better than where I was a couple of days ago.

Some things that are still concerning me:
#1: Its a solid nodule
I guess a cyst would be more likely not to be cancerous-as it would be filled, mine is solid
#2: I have a single nodule
multiple nodules are more on the side of not being cancerous also....
#3: the sporadic pain indicates a more likely chance of it being cancerous...

I also have to get my thyroid checked with a blood test and again if it comes back to being under producing that is a bad sign....if its over producing then tahst a better likelyhood it is not cancerous.

So-Ive got all these things going for me....LOLOLOL-doesnt look good does it....but there is nothing I can do but wait until it is biopsied I guess..so no use worrying about it...but yeah...its still a constant worry on my mind.....what can ya do.....sigh...

The kids all have Valentine parties today. I will be going with Stinger to his at the homeschool co-op group-should be alot of fun. I managed to do Flamingos hair in that heart braide with a big ribbon-it looked really cute. Both Flamingo and Monkey Boy where all smiles as they got on the bus this morning-they should both have a great day too:)

Ive still got to get dh and kiddoes V-day goodies packaged up-gotta do that tonight:)But then we will be set. I plan on cooking Valentine pancakes on Sunday :)What fun-eh? :)

Updates.....

I had my hearing test...the guy laughed and told me I was perfectly fine...phew....LOLOLOL He said to tell hubby I have selective hearing issues...LOLOLOL, but anyway-thats one out of the way...:)
Tomorrow morning I have my ultra sound on my thyroid-hopefully they will let me know right when they are looking if they see anything-I HATE it when I have to leave and they wont mum a word....ugh....then you get to fester abt it until the Dr calls...joy....sigh...but hopefully it is nothing. If it is nothing the Dr said to just watch and see and let him know if it gets worse...personally I do not like that idea...one bit...but what can I do abt it-eh? ????
So say a little prayer that it is nothing....

The dealership where we have our Suburban called and said it was a gasket problem -a $25 dollar part, so thats a relief, and its running again. I personally have lost all trust in that vehicle and I dont care to rely on it anymore when Im totting ard our kids....but the dealership said it was fine. Dh got the impression that it was alot like what the other mechanic we took it too said and the "Well ...its this...."kinda deal, so he thinks we need to sell-so thats what we will be doing. Sp we are on borrowed time with that one ....maybee not...but I dont want to deal with it anymore...kwim? So we will sell then get an older more reliable one:)

Flamingo is ecstatic-Girl Scouts will be starting again in a week-our friend has decided to start it up again-Flamingo loves it-she was sooo pleased. This will be her last year as a Brownie-then she will be "One of the big girls Mom" LOLOLOL She's too funny, but she loves getting together with all the girls-so that will be fun to start her in up again:)

Stinger has his writing test coming up on the 17th-yeah!!NOT!! But its their first year so they will be understanding and expect difficulties. Writing is Stingers sore spot-he HATES-I mean HATES it,HATES it more than reading even....can you imagine*gasp*LOLOLOL But he will plug through as he usually manages to do:)

Monkey Boy is on to his zillionth girlfriend at school...LOLOLOL Seams every week its someone new that he is holding hands with....and who can blame those girls-hes got a smile that melts like butter(okay- Im biased a bit) LOLOLOLLOLOLOL but if looks could melt -his do:)

Ive got all Valentine goodies bought for dh and kiddoes-I went a bit wild with the candy bars with dh....must be my diet talking...LOLOL, o well-I can live through him-right?;)LOLOLOLIll take some pics on V-Day and post:)

Dr. Apt Update....

Well I had my Dr appointment on Sat morning....
He said that my thyroid was enlarged, so maybee I had a cist or something, but he couldnt feel it.
Im supposed to be getting an ultrasound to see if it can see anything that he couldnt feel, etc.
It hasnt been giving me very many problems since then-its mostly sporadic, but when it does bother me-its painful and it can last all day...it feels like muscle spasms in my neck-which is really weird....so hopefully they can figure out what is going on....
So basically I still dont know...I wonder if it has been contributing to my snoring.....LOLOLOL

Anyway-Ill keep you posted.

The kiddoes put together Valentine boxes and cards this weekend-no they just couldnt wait...LOLOL
They had alot of fun-went crazy with the glittery hearts and crazy eating all the leftover candy....It was fun decorating with them:)

Not too much has been going on here-just same old same old.

Yesterday we towed our Suburban to the dealership-what a JOY!!!!NOT!!LOLOLOL, I almost ran into the back of Dh's truck...ugh...but I didnt//phew...have I mentioned how we BOTH just HATE towing and this will be the second time for the darn Suburban. Dh made it a point to tell them to just diagnose-not fix, and we will see if its worth it to fix, if not we will sell and then get an older Suburban. So we are waiting to see what they will come up with-*cross your fingers and toes thats its juts something minor*Dh says whenever you think its something minor it ends up being a biggie-but hopefully that is NOT the case.

We waited till the kiddoes got home from school and then we headed to Wally-World for our grocery shopping. Saturday we will be going to Logan for Sams stuff-if the snow isnt too bad(yes...its supposed to snow again...all weekend..yeah...LOLOL)But we got a bunch of Valentine stuff for the kids to make(they all got their class lists yesterday) and candy etc-The kids are all excited-and wanted to come home and do them. But it was too late and dinner time by the time we got home-so we will do them next week I think...If the kids can wait that long....LOLOL

Tom morning I have an apt with the Dr. Ive been having soem disturbing issues with my throat, where I can swallow well, and it feels like when you swallow a piece of gum and it wont go down, well thats what it feels like and it hurts:( It comes and goes, but I need to have it checked out the nurse said. It seams to be really bad in the morning after I take my pills etc...Its hard to describe, but sometimes when Im eating or drinking I will have to stop as I cant swallow etc and it hurts-weird I know...I cant figure it out. The nurse said it might be acid refux, but Ive never had that before, and why would it be springing up right now?? But maybee thats what it is and that would be a simple fix I guess, so that would be good I guess???I dont know...but anyway Im having it checked out tom morning *wish me luck:)*

Thats abt all that has been going on.....still waiting for Spring and being terribly disappointed each and every day...LOLOL j/k, but seriously......LOLOLOL

"Danger-Danger" "Game Over "- FUN!!!!!

Well tonight we turned off all the lights and had a good game of Lazer Tag. It was ssooo much fun...Stinger and Monkey Boy where such a hoot! I think they could have played all night long...but we had to do homework sometime....LOLOLOL

I tried to find a picture of our guns, but couldnt find one. Dh bought them awhile back and they are really fun. They have a head piece with glasses type deal too so you can turn the gun noise down and can see in the dark-so you can sneak up on your enemy and -BAM-!LOLOLOL

We had some growing up and they were alot of fun-but they sure have changed...LOLOL

They talk and let you know when the other one is near by saying "Danger" They also have a shield you can put up.

The darn dogs kept giving away my position-they HAVE to follow me ard everywhere you know .....LOLOLOL

But I still managed to kick some butt every now and then...Stinger is really good!!and Hard to beat! He found this toy net thing and put it over him-and it really disquised him well-I couldnt find him for a good 20 min!!!LOLOLOL

All the kids really get into it-its hilarious!!!I dont think Ive laughed that hard in awhile-we had alot of fun:)
